Dancers
Most people don’t consider dancing to be a part of worship to the Lord anymore. At best it is a performance that we sit down and watch, not one that is participated in. Throughout our experience at the house of prayer one of the primary things prophesied over people is to dance before the Lord.
Something is released in the dance that can not be expressed by just standing and clapping or being still. There are times when a violent physical expression, a bursting forth of all the body’s capacities is needed, and other times of sweet intimate dancing in purity and bridal intimacy. The LAHOP intends to restore in prophetic dance to it's proper place in worship. Whether you are a professional dancer or can only sway from side to side, the Lord has commanded us to “Praise His name with the dance” (Psalm 149:3).
This can often be used as a form of intercession for others, a dance of victory so to speak. Other times it just releases the soul to a new level of freedom in worship. Although the reason that dance is so impacting is not fully understood, we at the LAHOP have acknowledged its power in our hearts and are fully committed to restoring it’s place in the expression of worship and intercession to the Lord.
Jeremiah 31:13
“Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old, together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and make them rejoice rather than sorrow.”
Psalm 30:11
“You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.”
