Lahop

The arts have been one of the greatest gifts God has given the church. We at the LAHOP feel that God is beginning to restore them to their rightful place as key expressions of the person of Jesus, for all desires and hobbies were first in Him.  Therefore, we have created a special place within the House of Prayer devoted fully to the arts.  Painters, sketchers, and even doodlers are welcome to come and use the supplies provided, or bring their own, to partner with the creative God in expressing who He is. 

Our vision is to encourage and display these works so that we may see the glory of who He is with our eyes, beholding Him, and be impacted in our hearts.  We believe that the releasing of this skill for the glory of Jesus in the house will not only bring about greater creativity, but will give the artists a freedom in worship with which will increase their capacity to receive from the Lord.

Poetry uses the crafting of words to more fully capture the realities of Scripture.  We have many people in the body that God has gifted in this way.  Therefore, we have encouraged these wordsmith’s to exhort the body with their words, and record their experiences for the next generation, through prophetic poetry and writings.

Not only have these life-giving recounts of the Lord’s impact of the heart touched us, but they have revealed a portion of His life that we could not have experienced without the skillful storytelling of the poet and writer. If you have a gifting as either an artist or poet/writer, we at the LAHOP strongly urge you to include the Lord in your passion.  He will take you farther in your walk with Him through that very gift.  The training offered at the LAHOP is not skill based, but spiritually based from which your gifts will flourish.
